About Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD), Hyderabad

The only international airport in the Indian state of Telengana, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport serves the capital city of Hyderabad. This airport has two terminals- one passenger terminal and one cargo terminal. It is a new airport in Hyderabad which was opened on 23rd March, 2008 to replace the old one. This Airport is 6th busiest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic. The airport is hub for Alliance Air, Spice Jet, Lufthansa Cargo, Quickjet Cargo, TruJet and Indigo.

The airport has single passenger terminal with a capacity of handling 12 million passengers per year. The western wing of the terminal serves international passengers while the eastern wing serves domestic flights. There are 46 immigration counters, 77 check-in desks and 19 self check-in kiosks at the airport. The airport is well connected to the city and its vicinity through national highways and Indian Railways. There is also a proposal of metro rail connectivity from the city to the airport in the offing.
