About Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD), Ahmedabad

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is the primary airport of Gujarat, a popular state of India. The airport primarily serves the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The airport is located approximately 9kms away from the city premises. In terms of passenger traffic, it is the seventh busiest airport in India. Altogether, there are three terminals in operations and one terminal is expected to come up for cargo. Terminal one is the oldest terminal amongst all and is spread across an area of 480000 square feet. It has 32 check-in counters. Terminal 2 is the second major terminal of the airport. It is also a very large terminal, spread across an area of 41000 square meters. This terminal has a total of 32 check-in counters and four aero-bridges. The terminal has a capacity to accommodate approximately around 1600 passengers at a time. Terminal 3 is the latest one is still in the making. The construction of this terminal began in early 2019, it will be dedicated for the domestic fights.
